EACOP THROUGH ITS TIER-1 CONTRACTOR SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC EMPOWER UGANDAN SMES THROUGH ENERGY INNOVATION TRAINING

As part of our continued commitment to promoting National Content, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) through its Tier-1 Contractor, Schneider Electric, conducted a two-day IEC  (Industry Enhancement Center) training from 30th to 31st October 2025 at the IEC Centre in Kololo.

The training, themed “Infrastructure of the Future,” aimed to equip Ugandan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the knowledge and tools to transform their operations through innovative energy management and automation solutions.

Facilitated by Ms. Maureen Ogendo, a seasoned Power Systems Engineer, and a team of Schneider Electric subject matter experts, the sessions combined practical insights with hands-on learning experiences. Participants explored modern energy infrastructure trends, efficient system integration, and technologies driving sustainability in the industrial and public sectors.

The event brought together 31 local suppliers, service providers, engineers, and technical professionals from Uganda’s energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. The interactive sessions provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration toward building smarter, more sustainable energy systems for the future.

Through such initiatives, EACOP continues to reinforce its commitment to developing local capacity and ensuring that Ugandan enterprises and professionals are well-positioned to participate meaningfully in the country’s growing energy sector.
