EACOP AND TOTALENERGIES INSPIRE STUDENTS AT KIBULI SECONDARY SCHOOL CAREER FAIR

EACOP, together with TotalEnergies, on the 25th of June participated in the Kibuli Secondary School Career Fair, engaging hundreds of students in an inspiring session focused on career development, education, and opportunities within Uganda’s energy sector.

The career fair provided a platform for learners to interact with industry professionals and gain practical insights into the diverse career paths available in engineering, environmental management, communications, finance, health and safety, community relations, human resource and other disciplines that contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Representatives from EACOP and TotalEnergies shared their personal career journeys, highlighting the importance of academic excellence, integrity, continuous learning, and developing both technical and soft skills. Students were encouraged to pursue careers aligned with their passions while remaining adaptable in an evolving world of work.

The students were introduced to the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project, explaining its significance to Uganda’s and the region’s economic development, as well as the wide range of opportunities it creates for Ugandans through employment, skills development, and local content participation.

An interactive question-and-answer session gave students the opportunity to seek guidance on subject combinations, university courses, internships, graduate programmes, and the competencies employers value most in today’s workplace.

EACOP remains committed to investing in Uganda’s future by supporting initiatives that empower young people with knowledge, mentorship, and career guidance. Through engagements such as the Kibuli Secondary School Career Fair, the Project continues to contribute to building a skilled, informed, and motivated generation ready to drive the country’s sustainable development.
