EACOP welcomed the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr Charles E. Kichere, and the Auditor General (AG) of the Republic of Uganda, Mr Edward Akol, together with their delegation, for a visit to the Marine Tanks Terminal (MTT) and Spread 16 in Tanga.
The visit provided an opportunity to see the Project’s infrastructure firsthand and appreciate the significant investment made by the Governments of Tanzania and Uganda, alongside their affiliated shareholders.
The delegation commended the strong partnership between the two countries and expressed appreciation for the Project’s progress and positive impact on surrounding communities. They noted that seeing the infrastructure firsthand provided a clearer understanding of the scale of the investment and the achievements to date.
With overall Project progress at approximately 93%, the delegation described the achievements as impressive and expressed anticipation for First Oil in early 2027.
