20 LOCAL SPECIALISTS GRADUATE IN ADVANCED AUTOMATIC WELDING TECHNOLOGY.

EACOP, together with its Tier One contractor China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. Ltd (CPP Uganda), celebrated the graduation of 20 of their Ugandan employees, including two women, from a specialized Automatic Welding Training Program held at the Tilenga Main Camp in Buliisa District.

The training was conducted as part of CPP Uganda’s commitment to National Content development and technology transfer, with the aim of equipping its employees with advanced technical skills required in modern pipeline construction. Participants received both theoretical and practical training on the operation of the CPP G1990 Series Automatic Welding Machine, a technology known for its precision, efficiency, and high-quality performance in pipeline welding.

During the program, the trainees gained skills in equipment recognition and debugging, machine operation, welding in 5G, flat, vertical, and overhead positions, parameter setting, multi-pass welding, defect analysis, and international certification standards. Upon successful completion of the program, the participants graduated as certified automatic welders.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, representatives from EACOP and CPP Uganda highlighted the importance of investing in local talent and strengthening technical capacity within host communities. They noted that initiatives such as this are key to empowering Ugandans with globally competitive skills that support long-term economic growth and sustainability.

Through specialized industry training aligned with international pipeline construction standards, EACOP and its contractors continue to advance National Content objectives while creating opportunities for meaningful local participation in Uganda’s oil and gas sector.
