The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) proudly participated as a sponsor at the 11th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week and 9th African Engineering Conference, held from 14th – 19th September 2025 at the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda.
The convention, held under the theme of shaping Africa’s trajectory towards sustainable development, brought together engineers, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders from across the continent and beyond. The event provided a platform for dialogue on advancing Africa’s engineering capacity, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable infrastructure development.
During the week, the EACOP booth attracted significant attention from delegates. Distinguished visitors included the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among; the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya, Rt. Hon. Moses Wetangula; the Minister of Works and Transport in Uganda, Gen. Katumba Wamala; and the Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation in Uganda, Hon. Dr. Musenero Monica Masanza.
The delegation was received by Mr. Lawrence Ssempagi, our Regulatory Compliance Lead (Uganda), who walked them through EACOP’s progress. The visitors expressed excitement about the advancements made in the construction of the pipeline and commended the project’s commitment to compliance, sustainability, and community engagement.
EACOP’s participation in this year’s conference highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to contribute to Africa’s engineering excellence and its role in shaping sustainable infrastructure across the region.
