A delegation from the National Forestry Authority (NFA) Board of Directors, senior management and staff, led by Dr. Eng. Christopher Ebal, the Board Chairman, carried out a supervisory visit to Taala Central Forest Reserve and the EACOP Main Camp and Pump Station 1.
The visit focused on reviewing the progress of biodiversity offset activities and assessing the construction progress, integrity, and lifespan of the EACOP facilities. The team was briefed on ongoing restoration efforts, tree planting, and environmental management measures being implemented under the offset program.
Dr. Ebal and his delegation expressed interest in understanding how the project’s environmental safeguards and construction standards align with national sustainability goals. They also interacted with field teams to gain first-hand insight into the coordination between NFA and EACOP on conservation initiatives.
Before concluding the visit, the delegation was encouraged to serve as ambassadors, sharing the knowledge and experiences gained from the field to further promote awareness of EACOP’s environmental and sustainability efforts.
Dr. Ebal concluded by commending the progress made and the hospitality extended to the delegation, noting that the collaboration between NFA, EACOP, and other stakeholders reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development.
