EACOP: INSTALLATIONS OF OIL PUMPS COMMENCES.

Kabalega Industrial Park in Buseruka, Hoima district — the ground zero of the Fast African Crude Oil Fit line (EACOP) — is a hive of activity, with trucks transporting equipment to the site and workers busy with installations. The site, which was previously a bush land, has transformed significantly. The ground has been levelled, and oil and gas structures are rising faster than expected. This location will host the first pump station (PS1), which will propel Uganda’s crude oil through the EACOP facility to Tanga Port in Tanzania. During a visit to the site last week, it was evident that, in less than a year, the team had begun setting up crude oil pumps. Hadi Watfa, the manager of Above Ground Installations for the EACOP project at the site, said work continues to intensify at every stage.
